I actually wanted McAlister to pull that fight out of the bag. I thought he knew what he needed to do but never actually believed that he could do it. Unfortunately, his lack of power can't repell guys like Murray. Guys that are prepared to walk through his shots in order to corner, land and wear him down. It was obvious that he wasn't going to able to keep up the pace of the early rounds and would probably get stopped but I enjoyed his effort nonetheless. I think you guys are being a bit harsh on him by calling him a nob. He wasn't meant to win but made life uncomfortable for Murray and made him look a bit clueless many times by stepping and knocking Murray off balance with a cheeky short hook. I felt he could have used his jab a lot more because it was succesful. But ultimately, he started to slow and began to lose heart a few rounds before the end.
As for Khan-Murray, Khan is a lot slicker and has way more pop than McAlister but that chin... oh that chin... makes anyone with decent power a live body. One thing's for sure, Murray can't win on points. |

Exactly. Murray is hardly in Jackson's class of puncher, but Khan is not in Graham's class of chin (which is saying something), and certainly not defensively. The end result could be the same.
I could honestly see a very good way for Murray to win that fight if he just started slowly. I wouldn't like to see him running onto 1 2 3 punches and getting caught cold early on when Khan is fast. Just let Khan beat your arms, get ****y and over confident. Let him lose speed and sharpness. Then Murray will win. It's just whether he has the smarts to do that. |

Murray will get closer to Khan as the fight progresses just as he did tonight with McAllister. Once he achieves that, believe Khan will be like a fish out of water. No inside ability. Every shot will hurt him. He won't last long. |

McAlistair had the right idea but doesn't have the fitness, mentality or power to pull it off. |
