Who/What caused the riot at Bowe v Golota? and who won it?

A well respected member of Bowe's corner said it was all the Polish guys in the crowd waving their flags in the faces of the brothers. He also claimed he only attacked Golota after he had been threatened himself, he needed a black walkie talkie to fend off the raging Golota.

Bowe's manager, Paul Newman, denied causing the riot and it's hard to see why he was accused. The fighting in the arena lasted 20-30 minutes, I've watched it a few times and reckon the guys in the basketball shirts won. The best punch of the night was landed on a cameraman perched up on one of the pads in the corner of the ring. Foreman was trying to calm people down.

Bowe entourage was a bunch of thugs, that would attack with objects and in groups cause they themselves were a bunch of pussies that one on one with someone would get dropped.

Lewis nearly got his eye taken out by the Polish fans waving flags, on the walk to the ring for Lewis-Golota. I notice his entourage didn't immediately fly into a chair-flinging brawl.

Bowe had an awful lot of thugs in his hangers-on.

The riot was started by Rock Newman and Bowe’s security people when Rock Newman charged the ring. One of Bowe’s security people attacked Golota with his cel phone. After Newman and his security people stormed the ring, the fans started to fight, not before. Some elderly people were caught up in the craziness. It was an ugly scene. One little known fact George Foreman saved Jim Lampley from a beating.. One of Bowe’s fans wanted to start a fight with Jim Lampley. The “ don’t do it son “ lines were Formean telling that Bowe fan to stay away from Lampley.

While Golota disgraced himself with the low blow fouls, Bowe’s camp which was unquestionably under Rock Newman's control struck the match that ignited the riot. Newman was a real confrontational type from the Malxom X school of politics.

Newman and Bowe were banned from Madison square Garden for a year, and some of Bowe’s security people were arrested.

That was the best line of the whole mayhem when all you hear is george saying--dont do it son. It wouldve been kinda sweet though to see lampley getting ktfo.

Rock Newman is one of the biggest punks you'll ever see. He also climbed in the ring and attacked Tillery from behind after Tillery got in a fight with Bowe (which Bowe started) between rounds.

He is also a coward for dropping Bowe's title in the trashcan to avoid facing Lewis.

Whatever happen to cell-phone-boy? (The guy with the black belt in Kung Phone). Were criminal charges ever brought up? That was one of the most classless things I've seen in a boxing match. Anyone ever hear why he did what he did?

I agree that it was similar, but I think the Bowe/Golota thing was worse.

he should really have known better. Probably better for the public that the guy is not working around with a badge and a gun (not to mention a cell-phone).
