who hit harder, marciano or tyson?

I,m new for here. My question is: who hit harder marciano or tyson?

A 185 lbs man full of muscle who used all leverage he could get who wasn't very fast vs a 215 lbs man full of muscle who used all leverage he could get too who was also very fast.

Tyson pretty easily for me.

We don't know, but I would expect Tyson to hit much harder than Marciano.

I agree with you,. But, power is : mass * speed. Why marciano hitted harder ali by example. Ali was biggee that marciano and more speed.

Ali his punching technique was focused on different things than Marciano's.

Ali also liked to throw flurries and arm punches.
Single punches Ali might not have been very strong but his offense was still very good and focused on other things than fully leveraged shots.

If Marciano wanted to be as mobile as Ali he would have to throw away a lot of the leverage (being flat footed isn't good for your mobility and he would have to throw that away) he used and his power wouldn't have been close as good.

Having Ali's power and being even close as mobile at the same time is extremely hard.

It's a tricky one, but it's probably Tyson. I mean Marciano KOed the greatest fighters of his era, whereas Tyson only KOed top contenders and a faded Larry Holmes. Also consider Mike was fighting 12 round fights. Them 3 extra rounds Marciano had to KO an opponent would definitely take it's toll, especially with his work rate. P4P it's gotta be Marciano though.

Pure, raw power, probably Marciano. Tyson was a much better overall puncher, though.

Marciano would tap a guy and they'd feel it the rest of the night.

Tyson's punches were faster, had a lot of power, were more crisp, more accurate, and had better technique which overall made him a better puncher, but in terms of sheer, raw, power, Marciano tops Tyson.

Tyson was heavier, faster and had better technique so he would be the more impressive but in terms of who left better fighters out cold it has to be Rocky. Tyson left fighters senseless where as Marciano left them asleep. Tysons sharpness and accuracy took away a mans legs but marciano (with smaller gloves) put them out cold and thats only going by what we have on film.

Tyson crushed super heavyweights and Marciano feasted on blown up light heavyweights, cruiserweights and an ancient Louis ... can we get real please ? Look at what TYson did to the one blown up light heavy he fought in Spinks who was closer to his prime than Charles or Moore ...

Mike Tyson, definitely. Rocky was one of the hardest hitters of all time at 185lb though. However, Tyson kayoed big strong, prime super heavyweights along with top contenders/ex champions who had never been stopped before (tubbs, thomas, holmes, spinks).

I think more of that had to do with his speed, though. He was able to hit them with shots faster than they could react to, which is what hurt them more than the power itself.

Guys held up to Tyson better when he slowed down and they saw the shots coming.

Even when people saw Marciano's shots coming, it still laid them out. This is why I believe Marciano had more raw power. He was putting people to sleep whereas Tyson was bouncing people around until the ref had to intervene.

Neither could hold a candle to joe louis for getting the job done as clean. marciano was all brute force, tyson was blinding aggresion but joe was real craftsmanship.

Tyson was a weird hybrid though. He had the speed of a smaller man and yet he was beating on slower men.

marciano was having to time faster men than he was. Rocky was not beating on a sitting duck. He had no edge in speed against any of his opponents and marciano was not significantly bigger than them either. Rocky beating on a slower guy than he was would be just as horrific as it was watching Tyson.

pound for pound its Rocky.

Both got the job done.
