They keep multiple mandatory challengers on back order at all times. It's a joke.

If fans would decide who the champion is the most popular guy would always be the champion.
Can Wladimir lose that champion of division status, if for example Chagaev destroys everyone in the division expect Wlad?
After Champion wins a belt he can dumb them, if they are stopping unification with their bullshit mandatories. Almost everyone would still consider that guy a champion even without all the belts.

This is the best fight the struggling heavyweight division seen on paper, since Lewis/Vitali back in the summer of 03, it took 6 years to finally put together a fight boxing fans can appretiate, thats just hope the scared fighting Wlad and HypeMaker come to put on a show for us fans.

That fight wasn't even close to being talked about as much as this one beforehand. A lot of it had to do with the fact that it was thrown together 2 weeks out from the fight date. Of course... the fight is STILL being talked about to this day, on a regular basis.

I think whoever posted that comment meant the rematch. The Lewis/Klitschko fight was a last minute bout. The original fights in the staples center were supposed to be Kirk Johnson vs Lewis and Vitali Klitskcho vs Cedric Boswell.

I would have loved to have seen the original fights actually.

Yes I know.

But it is most talked heavyweight fight of the decade. Years later people still talked about it and wanted rematch.

If you count only pre-fight talk Tyson vs. Lewis is number one.

Well due to the last minute change from Kirk Johnson to Vitali there wasn't really any buildup to it. It was a slug fest no doubt & a rematch would've been HUGE if it happened within 6 months to a year.
