Default Hatton vs Prime Castillo

It might have be done before but im fairly new and would like to hear peoples views on this.

I think Hatton would not have been able to bully Castillo the way he did, but that body shot would put anyone down, prime or not. So id still go with a Hatton ko, maybe in later rounds though.

QFT. Hatton is too big for Castillo, but a prime Castillo would probably be able to hang in there till the end

At 140 it would be a close fight, i would say Castillo by decision.

Dont think age was the main problem for Castillo. More like speed/size and styles.
He maybe hangs around for a few extra rounds but the finish would be similar.

A prime Castillo would only weigh 135 so would be even easier for Hatton to throw around like a rag doll

Hatton based on youth. Castillo wasn't that far from his prime and was well into it by the time he was fighting Caesar Bazan.

Hatton by UD.

Exact same outcome. Hatton is bigger, stronger and more powerful. Not to mention more agile, fluid, nimble and dynamic.

Did Castillos ribs get old? No, Castillo was made to pay for things he has done his whole career. He always is left foot heavy, he always crosses his arms like that and he always starts slow.

Castillo is a more polished, text book fighter who works on fundamentals more than Hatton but he did not have Hattons talent or tools.

Hatton came out firing and the first punch showed who was the more agile and dynamic fighter. People call the fall a pull down BUT it was an example of Hattons strength.

Castillo was warming up in the second and then big time in third. Hatton himself says in the break 'he's warming up'. Castillo continue to find a home for body shots and uppercuts but he was made to pay horribly.

How shot is Castillo? The HBO are talking out of their arse. Does a shot fighter throw 50-60 body shots a round. Look at the punch stats, Hatton edges him in all areas. This was a good reflection of the fight, Hatton was just that little bit better.

People say Ngoudjo showed Castillo was shot? Instead of saying Castillo was facing a young undefeated fighter who simply didn't have the experience. Castillo beat him, you don't win rounds doing what Herman did.

Yes, Castillo was not in his absolute prime BUT stop taking away from the win by saying he was shot. Going into the fight Hatton was coming off arguably three bad performances. No one remembers this post fight.

Same with Tszyu, Hatton had never fought on that level and Tszyu had destroyed the consensus best 140 pounder in the world. Post fight? no on remembers this and Hatton beat another shot fighter.

Truth is, Hatton has faced a top 10 140 pounder and a top 30 135 pounder and he has decisively beaten both.

Things that are being said about Hatton can ruin Marcianos record. Marcianos record aged like fine wine, it just got better. Eventually people could appreciate what he did.

Why waste 30 years before appreciating Hatton is an elite fighter who is good for boxing!

Er...Tszyu retired after the Hatton fight and Castillo might have one or two more fights if he's lucky. Both were past their best.

Graham even said himself 'We got Tszyu at the right time ... and there will be no rematch'.

Did you ever think they meant it was the right time for Hatton! No one is saying Tszyu was in his absolute prime but he was FAR from shot.

I watched the fight today. Only a moron would call Tszyu shot.

Hatton finished Tszyu and Castillo. That is the style he has, just like Marciano finished Louis, Charles, Walcott etc

Thats ridiculous. How people come to that conclusion il never know. Zoo was still very competitive in the 11th round of a fight, and least he could actually work at full pace for a full 3-minute round. Castillo wasnt primed, he wasnt at his best weight and he was past his best, but it was the fashion in which Hatton finished him which was most impressive. I doubt many top fighters would have got him out of there inside 4 rounds.

Fighters like Tszyu tend to age very well, to say he was shot at 35 is a bit of an overstatement, Mosley has probably aged worse than Tszyu did and look how well he is holding up.
