Mate, you might find Sky are on par if not better pricewise than Main Event. I will let you know they are aware of the disparity of venues around the states and its something they are working towards correcting, I'm hoping that in the future we can reverse this trend and have more venues in Vic, SA, Qld, WA and even Tas for marcus.
From my time in Vic a decade ago it was a similar situation, only a handful of venues every time and they seemed to change every fight. I will tell you from my own personal experience that they do listen and want to challenge Main Event in the future. I'll provide an example in the foxtel thread shortly, hopefully something to look forward to in the future. I'll start a thread tomorrow listing all the venues and will update it a few times a day, keep an eye on it and I'm sure some more Vic venues may be added. If you have any ideas of venues that carry Sky and may be interested pm me, info like this is something that can be used. |

Thanks for your informed reply. It provides me with some hope to the future...
I'll send you a PM. (Oops cant - need 50 posts!) Cheers, baha74 -------------------------------------- From memory, venues carrying Sky who use to frequently telecast boxing include; The Olympic Hotel in Preston,The Inkerman (Balaclava) and The Grand in Mornington. I would love it if The Olympic would show it - it's 10 mins. from work and home - easy to get someone to cover for me whilst I disappear from work! (Also, recently, The Olympic showed about 8 fights in a row (Main Event/Foxsports) because they did them a good multi-telecast deal.....) Last edited by baha74; 02-18-2009 at 03:11 PM. |

Cheers, from memory there were a few in Richmond that used to get them and that pub on Kew junction, the whatsitsname.
The multi telecast is something I've mentioned to them and hopefully they'll get that organised soon, its a bit hard as they never know what upcoming ppvs they share with Main Event and which ones they get exclusively. Any other info like this is greatly appreciated guys, thanks baha. |

The Harp of Erin in Kew shows many Foxsports/Main Event fights but not Sky for the past couple of years if memory serves me well. Yeah, a few in Richmond like The Taverner? and The Court Jester? and the Vaucluse? as well I think...
Thanks for your efforts.

It is with great pleasure (and more than a little relief) that I am happy to announce the Greenwood will be showing the fight on Sunday.
Kegsy, your shout, I drink Guinness. |
