Default Any of you do your weight lifting at home?

I haven't got a lot of room, but I'd like to get a few bits to use at home. I wanna be able to do;

Bench press
Military press
Pullups
Dips
Squats

I reckon if I get a pullup bar, a small, foldable bench, a barbell, and some dumbbells I should be able to do all of those apart from maybe the dips, but I can sort those out. I might have to learn those one-legged pistol suqtas as well.

Any recommendations for home equipment, especially the barbell, dumbbells, and bench? Cheers in advance.

I'll show you what I got.

It's a golds gym power rack. The rails on the side are adjustable. Move it down and pull the bench up to bench press, move the bench and raise them up do squats. I also have a pull up bar. It works for all of those exercises. The bench itself is adjustable too, if you want to do decline situps or incline bench.

Yeah I used to when I was lifting.

All I had was a bench with a rack ( to set bar on ), an olympic bar, and weights. I used to bench, squat, deadlift, power clean, and military press.

Its really all you need, and since I didn't have a power rack for squats, I would do Front Squats in case of failure.

If possible try getting it off craigslist. I got the bench, bar, 300lbs in weights, and some dumbbells for $150.

I like that. The only thing is that I'd probably have to have it upstairs, so I wouldn't want 80+kg on the floorboards. How much was it?

well, I have a few rooms I use as my gym at home. So I have a full Iron Man weight set with a power rack and 7 punching bags and a sparring room. But for anyone thats short on space, just a couple of different sizd medicine ball and a good full body medicine ball routine works well.

pictures of my gym is at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
but a good starter medicine ball routine is at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

If you want to work out on your own, I would suggest getting an adjustable bench and some adjustable dumbells. Never know when you will fail on bench, having dumbells allows you to work relatively hard without risking getting pinned under a barbell and injuring yourself.

add some rows to that workout routine Rakim! You just need two opposite spaced sides for dips. You can do them at the park or with two chairs or on the corner of a balcony, etc.

Yeah I'd do rows either with the barbell or one arm at a time with the dumbbells. Dips aren't a massive problem anyway, I'll be happy if I get the rest of it in.

Graag gedaan Heerko. Koopmans had wel iets meer moeten doen, hij was te inactief.
