Since Rios is vacating the WBA regular lightweight Champion it should mean that Richard Abril (interem champion) will at least be able to fight for that championship. His promoter had mentioned that they wanted one more show this year probably in south florida although its probably too soon for this year it would be nice if they had it in Abril hometown. Does anyone know if the Magic City Casino will again hold monthly fights last year it was home to alot of cuban prospects.

Luis Franco just was taken away from the oportunity of fighting for the belt and keep it in mexican soil.He was fighting Escobedo for that spot, instead he has to fight some bum in kissimee to keep himself busy.

Due to a hand injury suffered by Zsolt Erdei, the SHOWTIME Championship Boxing telecast scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 31, has been cancelled.

Erdei was slated to challenge IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud in the main event at Anaheim, Calif. Rico Ramos was scheduled to defend his WBA super bantamweight title against Guillermo Rigondeaux in the co-feature.

The network is currently in discussions with the event promoters to find a new date for Ramos vs. Rigondeaux and for Tavoris Cloud to defend title on SHOWTIME in 2012.
