Sorry m8, it,s just imo when people bring out the newbie card it,s usually just a copout. back on topic: I think Khan overall has been a massive positive influence on youngsters, I think in years to come we may see the next gen of boxers say "they got into boxing coz they saw Khan at the olympics etc" Not sure about this programme, have yet to watch it, so don,t want to make a pre-judgement! |

I watched the show and even though I thought the routines were a bit formulaic and overdramatic, Amir came across well and genuine, and he clearly had those boys' best at heart! It is a good thing to have done this for these boys, I thought.

without wishing to be disney formulaic, amir khan doesnt have to be a champion in the ring, cos hs seems like a champion out of it....remember, this kid is 19....what were you like at 19...i was a ****in nightmare......good job khan, y'all may say publicity stunt, but really, does khan HAVE to do this sort of shit for publicity....i think he believs in this and hope he makes a difference to at least one of the lads...remember, an inch in the right direction is better than a step in the wrong one....

Well, having seen it, I thought Amir came across well (and family).
The lad from Devon seemed to have serious issues though that I do not for a minute think boxing could sort out. He needed professional physchotherapy. I hope this puts to bed some of the Arrogant and Fraud claims constantly spat out with vitriol against Khan becasue he has the temerity to think he will be a world champion (unless of course he ruins it in the next two parts) Regardless of whether he achieves this or not, he has been a positive influence on the sport (especially amateur boxing) and I wish him the best of luck. (needs to work on his defence though )
