I know one thing, and that is if Koscheck wins it will be the most boring fight in a long, long time.

I disagree. I think if Kos wins it will be that he catches GSP exactly like Serra did. I am having a real hard time envisioning Kos control GSP on the ground and work his GNP, and in the absence of some freak shot am completely confident that GSP is going to own the stand-up exchanges.

After the Serra fight, and in lieu of other upsets in UFC recently, I've stopped making predictions.
On paper, GSP should win. But that doesn't mean shit.

This should be a great fight (i hope). Koscheck is pretty decent and GSP is "the future" apparently.

very impressive victory by GSP taking Koscheck and giving him a lesson in wrestling, not a huge surprise because he handled Hughes,Trigg and sherk in that department as well. Koscheck came out throwing bombs so GSP had to be aware. i wonder who GSP's next oppenent will be.?

GSP impressed me in this fight but not surprised. He was in another class over Koscheck on paper but this is year of upsets.

Pissed at Kos, he fell in love with his stand up, could have taken that fight if he went out there to do what he was best at.

GSP fought wonderfully though.

I guess you missed where he tried to take GSP down a couple times and had a hell of a time, GSP has easily one of the best take down defenses in the game, not to mention his body movement makes it even harder to catch him. saying Kos could have taken it is absurd

Kos got the first takedown pretty easy, and was pretty close to getting the second, it took GSP doing a Sokodoju one legged mid air sprawl to avoid it (props to GSP for that). If Kos had initiated the takedowns instead of falling in love with his stand up, he would have been better off.

GSP won the fight no doubt, and Kos might not have won even at his best, but he certainly fought stupid tonight.

I dont think he would've been able to do much from GSP's guard.

Fair enough.

GSP is a better fighter. But, Kos' best chance was to fully commit to a takedown at all costs, it was his chance to win, and he didn't do it.

When you're facing a better a fighter, but have a stylistic matchup that is your best chance, you have to go for it and either get it or go out on your sword. GSP probably stops enough of the takedowns and wins anyway after what he showed tonight, and probably would have finished it even, but it was Kos' only chance, and I'm just dissapointed in Kos, thats all.

Hughes was a 2 time Division 1 all american wrestler.

Trigg was Division 1 all american at Oklahoma a 2000 Olympic Trials finalist and has a Black Belt in Judo.

Koscheck is a ONE time Division 1 champ, not 3.

Kevin Randelman was a TWO time Division 1 champ, Mark Coleman was a Division 1 champ who beat Kurt Angle and wrestled in the Olympics. Over in K-1 (MMA no?) Sylvester Terkay was a 1 time division 1 champ who lost 2-1 to Olympic Gold medalist Kurt Angle in the finals the year before. During his senior year he pinned every opponent he faced in an average of just over a minute. That is just American wrestlers in MMA.
