Had a tenner on Barca to win 4-0 with Paddy Power because of they're money back special. They reckon they lost 3million quid. Nice to see they have a sense of humour ********paddypowerblog.wordpress.com/2011/05/28/champions-league-final-mbs-refund/

Top night last night. Bumper day on super league and lower league today. Rangi Chase try 6/4. Ideal match for the Castleford catalyst against a leaky harlequins. Would expect 5 or 6 cas tries and rangi should'nt be more than evens today.

I see the draw is 11/4.
Both teams score plenty but Town have by far a better defence. I think a lot of people are laying this with a view to backing it once someone scores. If the 0-0 is 17/1, what would it be at half time? Lots of these playoff games tend to be tight because both teams are scared of losing. |

By laying you're effectively betting against a particular outcome, as opposed to backing it.
If you've got a football match, say Hudds vs Peterborough.... Huddersfield 8/5 Peterborough 9/5 Draw 11/4 If you put £1000 on Huddersfield, you're profit/loss will read.... Hudders +£1800 Peterbro -£1000 Draw -£1000 If Hudds score first, the inplay odds might look something like.... Hudders 1/2 Peterbro 7/1 Draw 4/1 When laying the odds are essentially reversed, you're getting 2/1 on Hudds not winning. So to get your £1000 back it'll cost you £500, so you'd look like.... Hudds +£1300 Peterbro £0 Draw £0 What you can do is lay more, so you could guarantee a profit in the region of £800-900..... a win is still a win. Where I find this helps is if I back a team to win and they start badly without conceding I can get my stake back pretty much in full, without panicking about whether they'll balls it up or not. The best way to figure it out is to use Betfair and play around with small stakes, a couple of quid at a time. |

Nice on BB, I kind of understood but didn't realise it was to do with in play betting,
From your experience to make it pay you need to put fairly hefty sums on? And do you use this method to make a fair profit over time? |
