I often contemplate turning into a profesional boxer , and make a living out of fighting taxi drivers
1) I won't have to go in the ring with real threatening opponents 2) I will make a decent wage with say about 10-12 fights per year, and gradually earn more money after beating say (x) amount of fighters.. 3) I already have some talent, just need to work on my fitness 4) I 've had amateur fighting experience , and plenty of years of sparring 5) Just keep fighting bums in Australia -the likes of overseas thai's and filo's with 0-15 records 6) I'd say I'm a pretty boring fighter to watch, as I like to see a boxing fight as a chess match, rather than a brawl,so I don't think I'll be a real crowd pleaser, but just be on the undercard of big fighters.. 7) If the opportunity arises for any opponent with a decent record to challenge me, I'd make up some excuse that I have an injury and can't fight him.. I think it could possibly work......

To create a quick buck fighting bums, you need to build up some kind of profile, preferably a controversial one. Maybe you should make a song about fingering children, or something along those lines and then turn pro.
Though you should probably just stick to the forums. |

You'd have to be fighting every 2 weeks to make a living off fighting complete bums. It wont take long for people to catch on and promoters probably wont be interested in a guy who gets to 12-0-0 fighting a guy whos 0-15 and running from him all night................when really a true 12-0 guy should blow him out in 1!
I have thaught about taking a few pro fights to pay off the odd debt. You can earn a quick AUS$600/800 for being a fall guy for some up and commer! Take 2/3 a year so your not getting your head ruined and you can easily make AUS$3'500 extra per year, always helpful for paying off the credit card bill! |

There is very little money in boxing at the lower levels. It is a very tough sport to make a living off, and unless sponsered within Australia, would most probably be impossible unless you had a lot of media interest in you for what ever reasons.
I would take Pecks idea and start working on some lyrics Tills You could ask Dennis Ferguson to join you and call yourselves the Rock Spiders. |

1-5 is a great idea!!! 6 ...well when your fighting bums you could be more pleasing to watch seeing how you would KO them i think you could make a cool life out of it. Thats if you really do enjoy training 6 days a weeks for at least 4 hours a day!!! |

If you are that keen for a fight and to earn some dollars why not try contract hits...break a few legs...a few arms.....you dont need to train just duck out from the shadows with a bat and wham......$2,000
