The thing is, Rudd doesn't have the personality to get away with this sort of thing, like Bill Clinton or even Bob Hawke would.

People will be happy to condemn him over this, because, instead of coming across as a red-blooded Aussie male, he comes across as a creepy little deviant, especially in light of his excuse of being too drunk to recall the incident.

He is half way through a book about it now...not just the affair but the whole channel 9 thing...very interesting story

He isn't fucked, this smear campaign hasn't worked out as well as everyone though it would. Not many people actually cared that he did it a few years ago.

they tried a similar stunt with Latham when they brought up how he attacked a cab driver once, and if I remember correctly, that didn't harm his cause much, though he did sink his own shit later on.

However, I do think the election will be closer than I originally thought. After doing a bit of research regarding polls, etc, they're often very inconclusive of how the election will turn out.
Labor still has to win over many seats, and that will be a hard task.
