Default Anderson Silva next fight is at 205

Dana White said that Anderson Silva's next fight is at 205 vs an elite fighter.

Ok, I don't know what elite mean to White, but i'm pretty happy. Finally, we will see him at 205 with big guys. I just hope its not Jardine lol. Every other contender, but not Jardine.

Rampage, Shogun, hell even Vera if White consider him elite, but not Jardine. That's my opinion.

One thing I know though, 205 is STACKED!!!

Is Dana forcing Anderson to go to 205? Putting entertainment value before the well being of his #1 fighter, interesting. It's not andersons fault the middleweight division has nobody that can beat him

It's not even that the divison has no one to beat him. It's that Dana and Joe Silva put him in with shit fucking fighters like Leites and Cote who go in there to survive, instead of fighting. All their other elite fighters like BJ Penn, GSP, hell even a shot to shit Chuck Liddell get consistantly put in with top opponents. And it's not as if there aren't any good fighters there. Maia, Marquardt, Hendo, Bisping would all go in there and fight, not hide like pussys, even if they do lose.

Hell I've heard a theory going around on the internet somewhere that Silva is deliberately making the fighters he is fighting look the shit they are, and proving they don't come to fight in the hope that he will be given a decent opponent. A bit far-fetched I know, but to me, that sounds like it could have some truth in it.

Before he leaves I want to see him fight Bisping (if he beats Dan Henderson) before he goes up to 205.

I don't suspect he'll be giving up the title, I think he'll be going back and forth between 185 and 205. Personally I thought for some time he sould be fighting at 205 and even recommended an opponent. Liddell. But undoubtedly that ship has sailed.

Dana likely put him in with no hopers in the thought that he would destroy them in under a minute

"Just look at the worlds best P4P fighter tearing through world class opponent after world class oponent in under a minute. Can you BELIEVE this guy?!?!"

If he did it backfired spectaculary... and thats a great thing for us. Now he's forced to put Spider in with elites as the public aint buying his shit anymore.

It could be Griffin. That would be pretty interesting. As would Rempage. Or it might be Shogun.

Whoever it is he better be one of the true elites of the division. Dana knows he has to deliver for Anderson's next fight, and that's a great thing

Griffin could be a great opponent. The guy cut from 240 to make the cut, he is huge. Not the most talented, but a lof of heart and very tough always with good gameplan. His guard is weak, but I don't think that will matter with Anderson Silva. + he is a good wrestler with a good cardio. That would be a great fight, that's sure.

I'm thinking that's the point. It's forcing their hand. Even though it shouldn't have had to come to this in the first place.

Also, the fact that it really looks like Anderson might not renew his contract and might fight Roy Jones, well, the UFC is probably thinking that they want to make big money off of Silva with an elite 205lb fight before they lose him.

If he leaves the UFC to fight Jones there is no reason he can't do a fight with Cung Le next.

Everyone knows Vitor Belfort V A Silva is the best fight in MMA at the moment, no point him going up to 205.

I dont understand what you meant. Whats this fascination with Marquardt? Was it his twin that Silva demolished last year?

If he doesnt like who hes facing, than move up. The dude walks around at like 220 for christs sake.

He should move up because he'd beat the hell out of alot of 205'ers. He needs to stop with this "thats Machidas division nonsense." Who cares about titles, at this point, he needs to take bigtime fights.

Maia should be nowhere near a title shot. He hasnt beat a top 5 MW. If anybody deserves a title shot its Okami. But hes not "exciting" enough for the UFC.

Only fight I want to see at MW are Silva/Henderson 2 and Maia/Silva once Maia proves himself worthy of a title shot by beating a top 5 opponent.
