Default GREATEST PUNCHERS OF THE LAST 10 years

I would say kostya tszyu was the greatest puncher of the last ten years. he truly had great one punch ko power. few fighters recovered from a shot by him. Look at the ko of zab judah and sharmba mitchell

Manny pac must be given great credit for carrying his power up all those weights and knocking out morales and barerra. that is a great achievement.

TITO trinidad was not ELITE ATG puncher in my view. he just fell short. look at the vargas, reid, joppy fights. he hurt them many times but couldn't finish them. tito could punch but not in the same league as a jackson, foster or archie moore

I think de la hoya was the bigger puncher.VARGAS never recovered from the first lethal shot he took from him. HE did when he got floored by TITO

As spectacular as some of his ko's were, naz never ko'd an elite fighter so he can't be considered a great puncher.

Oscar is not a bigger puncher than Tito, quite the opposite in fact.

You claim Tszyu was a great puncher because of his KO wins over Judah and Mitchell and give Pac credit for carrying his power up in weight with him yet don't give Naz credit when he KO'd similar levels of oppponents to Kostya and did so at weights higher than his natural one. That's a double standard if ever I saw one.

In my books, Tszyu and Naz were great punchers. Pac has good power but it's his speed and flurries that make him so dangerous.

you rank hoya over tito as far as punching goes?

Do you forget round 8 of BAD BLOOD.

oscar was throwing, and landing everything but the kitchen sink on feroz.... to no avail,

if trinidad landed half those shots on nando that hoya did in round 8 it would have looked like round 12 all over again.

not to mention tito gets to their chins first... hoya usually gets the chins when they already have miles put on them drastically, there is no arguing that.

In no particular order

Felix Trinidad (left hook)
Lennox Lewis (straight right)
Naseem Hamed (just about anything)
Kostya Tzyu (straight right)
Rafael Marquez (straight right)
Israel Vasquez (let hook)
Diego corrales (left hook)
Oscar Delahoya (left hook)
David Tua (left hook)

I'm sure I've left some guys out here

There are so many awesome punchers. Wlad has a hell of a straight right and left hook. I think Tito had more power than DLH. LL had a awesome Right as well.

Good list- there's alot of guys who could fit the bill, there's no way I could put together a list of great punchers with less than 10 names. I'll add Cintron and Wlad to your list. Pavlik's a hell of a puncher, too.

you're an idiot if you think Oscar hit harder than Tito. But then again, you also don't think Hamed was a great puncher.

I think it's a little premature to add pavlik in against guys with proven records but who knows. He just might get there.

As far as the DLH vs trinidad debate that seems to be going on here I'll add my 2 cents. Trinidad was a harder puncher, DLH was a better puncher. Tito had to set his feet and pretty much had a one dimensional (although extremly good) left hook. DLH could launch his from just about any angle moving forward or backward and on the tips of his toes or on his heals.

I'm waiting to see how he handles Taylor. Wlad and Cintron are my official additions, Pavlik's on the "watch list".
