It took two men to make that fight unfold like it did. |

His fans ended up making excuses for an inelegant performence rather than a catastrophic KO loss. |

Marciano look pretty dang impressive in the LarSarza rematch. And Cockell was just not staying down lol. Had Cockell take the punch and takeing the ten count like any other man, ok, impressive. But NOOOO Cockell had to fight for honor and country,(The Brits were edgeing Cockell to win the title, Brition's last hope ete.) And relly that type of backing makes a guy stronger if they are view as the host of there country for a fight. It was not the edge to beat Marciano of couse, BUT Marciano gave Cockell one of the worse beatings in the ring. Did you guys see the 7th and 8 rounds of that fight?? Cockell was taking right hand after right hand and NOT going down.

For the record, Cockell Marciano beats Douglas Tyson. Unlike Tyson, Marciano wont forget his head movement and defenses from his style. Tyson was just walking in and taking the jab. Also Marciano would be in better shape.
Billy Conn said it better, a C Level fighter INSHAPE beats a A level fighter out of shape. |

I don´t understand why people here (many) hate Marciano so much, what did he wrong? Now he´s in a fantasy matchup against a journeyman, Buster Douglas. This fighter´s legacy is only discussed today because he won (where he was in decent shape, I agree) against a non motivated, non well- trained, from parties fucked up Tyson. Marciano would KO him in the midrounds after a pretty good beating, @ this little Ali- nuthugger who play the smart-ass and tell us about "do your math...": Perhaps you should yourself fight a combat sport (or at least making some sparring sessions), than you would probably notice that weight and size isn´t everything...

While Douglas was very good the night he beat Tyson and I don't want to take anything away from the best performance of his life, Tyson was in pretty bad shape and was almost waiting to be taken by the next serious Heavyweight that didn't fear his aura of invincibilty. He had been on the slippery slide down for a while, the Bruno fight really sent alarm bells ringing for me. All credit to Douglas for taking advantage of this and showing the heart he did against Tyson. He would not be so fortunate against Marciano, who was always focussed and came to fight in exceptionally well trained condition. I see Marciano stopping a game Douglas by the 10th Round.

rocky would probably stop douglas late, but you can never rule out douglas winning. his jab just might cut up rocky enough for a stoppage.
