Default "I never could of beaten him"

What fighters have admitted him after losing fights, usually past their prime?

Joe Louis said he never could of beaten Marciano.

****ing Jeffries admitted in unbelievably racist times that he never could of beaten Jack Johnson. Got into a paper and everything.

Hmm?

Didn't he saw something similar about Lennox, even though him and Lennox went back and forth in sparring years ago?

"He was magnificent! I was lucky to be in there with him...!"

Hehhee.

And how do we know he was being humble?

If the man felt like proclaiming it on camera, you'd imagine there's truth to it.

Could have. Could have!

I recall George Foreman saying he would never have beaten Muhammad Ali.

I've always thought this was an interesting comment from Louis. When he said it, life really wasn't going his way.

But he didn't just say it once, it was something he repeated a couple of times to my knowledge.
Makes you think though that Louis was convinced he'd beat Ali, because he always said he could.

Yeh Ali said Tyson would've knocked him out cold.

Don't think Tyson said that, what I heard Tyson say was:

"He was splendid, a masterful boxer," and "He's a magnificent, prolific fighter."

I just watched the Lewis-Tyson fight again recently, so I remember.

Look it. None of those guys really believe that in their hearts. They all think they could have beaten everyone. They are just being humble because humility goes a long way with fans and the press. Deep down they think otherwise, I really believe that. All champions have big egos and think they can beat whomever. That's what made them champions.

That's because he was absolutely right and no one thought otherwise. On his best day Moore would have been owned by Ali and Louis. He might have lasted the distance with Ali, but Louis would have stopped him no doubt. But I bet deep down Moore thought he could take Clay. But even a confident Moore deep down probably knew Louis was nonpareil.
