Default OK... So Who was the Greatest

of the HWs?

You only have the following three choices:

Marciano, Louis, and Clay/Ali

You can give an explanation of why one is better than the other two if you want.

Very tough to say, either of the three would be a valid choice. I would say '67 Ali, the greatest by name and the greatest by nature.

Post exile Ali '70-74 would also be in with a shout of trumping Marciano or Louis, although it would be less of a chance.

Rocky Marciano is in no way in the top three. Personally I have Ali/Louis/Dempsey in a three way tie. Out of those three, if I had to pick between Louis and Ali, I'd go with Ali.

"Other people" are excluded... which makes THE ROCK number 3 in your own book regarding this post.... I never would have thought you rated him so high

Tyson would lose to three peeps that actually fought back AKA the three choices I gave.

Tyson had frighteningly quick hands in his hey day, but if Tyson was Mach3 Ali was pure lightning.

Ali was a lot more than "a hair" faster than Tyson. That repertoire of punches you descibe Ali as having would be bouncing off Tyson's melon all night long. You also forget the heart Ali had that Tyson lacked. Against Ali, Tyson would need a decent heart, and as we know he'd come up short. Ali could would take anything Tyson had and he'd still be standing, still be talking, all the while Tyson would be doubting himself. Thats when the fight would really get interesting and Ali would start having some fun with that rapist with a broken back.

Holmes deserves to be mentioned.

I've always considered Muhammad Ali the greatest Heavyweight that ever lived. No other Heavyweight in History can claim to have fought the level of opposition Ali did and still beat the majority of them even past their best. He could have milked his entire career on beating Liston, but he was determined to prove to everybody that he was the greatest ever. He didn't need to prove it to himself, he knew he was the best.

Putting anyone else in front of Ali is ridiclious to me.

*******S HOLMES WOULD OF BROKE THE RECORD OF THE GREAT ROCKY IF HE HAD OF GOT THE BREAKS THAT ROCKY GOT

Holmes never become champ until late in his career. he had a longer road to the title than the rock. he was kept on the side by king. he shouldm of been champion in about 1975 0r 76 but wasn't given the breaks.

rocky had a tough road to the title and 49 and 0 but he got rewarded better and earlier than holmes
