might make for better fights. didnt hopkins have a bet with joppy, joppy not going 12 rounds? not sure the fight had gone the distance if it wasnt for that bet :d

floyd will get the better deal. if floyd calls out pacquiao he can't offer him a 60-40 split in his favour. if floyd beats marquez he won't call out pacquiao, he will say he is looking for the best fights, and he will wait for pacquiao to come to him so he is in a better position to negotiate.

pacquiao is probably a little pissed as he got a 70-30 split against oscar, and 55-45 split against ricky, and he beat them both with ease.

there are too many variables and intangibles that go in to a fight... who's the bigger draw who is the champion and other things.. i dont agree with any set split.. it should be like it is now a case by case basis.. just as an example when tyson was fighting every opponent he faced was getting the biggest purse of his career and still it wasnt close to what tyson was getting and to me it was fair cause he was the draw and the champion

I think it's a good idea. Now, you might say that since one person is the bigger star, he deserves more, but his star power raises the pot for all involved, and if he wants the bigger share all e has to do is win.

BTW Pac-Mayweather had the money agreed, that isnt why the fight wasnt made

why would someone like floyd, a big draw boxer have to accept, or want to accept 60-40 against another good boxer, but not as big of a draw mosley?

Ironically, Mayweather/Pacquiao didn't fall apart because of money. They agreed 50/50 right away. Anyway, making all fights 60/40 is a big mistake. High risk/low reward guys would never get a big fight.

Boxing is a sport, but it derives it's revenue from the fact that it is also entertainment. That means if you want the big bucks, you have to put asses in seats. How many Miranda fans attended the Bute/Miranda fight? How on earth could justify giving Miranda 40% when Bute no doubt sold 90% of the tickets?
