Default Carbajal vs Lopez

Without putting my own input in, what do other Classic Posters think would've been the outcome if Ricardo Lopez had moved up in to Light-Fly to face Carbajal, for example after Carbajal's first fight with Humberto Gonzalez???

Was there a big change in skill for Lopez between say, '92/'93 and '98/'99.

I'm gonna say no....I think he was as capabal, if not better in the early-to-mid 90's then he was in the late 90's/early 00's (though I think he only had one fight in 2001 and I haven't seen it)

Lopez was on a different level. Pretty easy fight to call, IMO.

fair enough pea, even with those time consraints? lopez's footspeed and movement would be the key obviously, but ifeel he'd be less adept at controlling the pace with his jab when carbajal landedon him. i assume you think lopez would win a decision? who would you rate higher between carbajal and alverez, h2h or resume wise???

just to figure out why i think it could go this way, as up until recently i had struggled to find anyone to really push lopez in a h2h sense at either sw or lfw. wanna see others opinions really, maybe to see if i'm way off the mark or whether anyone else feels the same. anyone think of a sw or lfy that could be a serious threat to lopez, and does anyone know why lopez never moved up to fight the likes of carbajal and gonzalez? and i admire the guy, but please no suggestions for calderon, he wouldn't last the distance.

fair enough, but how would the fight go? not even competitive?am i overrating carbajal, underrating lopez (huge admirer so hope you guys don't that impression) or is it the clash of styles that don't favour carbajal? maybe i'm overrating carbajal's power? i accept maybe i got this one wrong

Chang, Gushiken and Zapata have the best chance to beat him in that weight-range, maybe Estaba as well. Not seen much of him.

What footage is there of Estaba at all, and if you don't mind could you share a few thoughts on what you've seen?

Carbajal has a puncher's chance, and I think he hangs in for the full twelve rounds and keeps pressing Lopez throughout. But Lopez generally kept his cool in these types of situations (as proved against Alvarez) so I think he'd emerge with a clear, but hard fought decision.

I think Chang is the only junior fly that I'd favor over Lopez. Gushiken could give him trouble too, but his defense seemed a bit leaky. Zapata had the skill-set, but something tells me that his lack of power would work to his disadvantage, and he didn't have the best chin.
