Default 76 gold vs 84 gold???

Leon Spinks vs Henry Tillman
Micheal Spinks vs Frank Tate
Ray Leonard - Mark Breland
Leo Randolph - Steve McCrory

I know I've had to miss a couple of 84 medalists out, Whittaker and Biggs because they had no 76 counterpart, Page because he was shit and Breland - Leonard is a better matchup than Page-Leonard.

Here goes...

Tillman KO8 Spinks
Spinks KO12 Tate
Leonard KO 6 Breland
Randolph UD McCrory (just a guess based on records, I've never seen Randolph fight)

Breland would've messed up Leonard.

Leonard just doesn't have Breland's amateur pedigree. Breland's jab would've kept Leonard at bay the whole fight. Brooklyn produces world champions like China produces deadly toys.

Pretty much no one had Brelands amatuer pedigree. Breland might have been able to decision Leonard in the amatuers, but not in the pros.

Actually your comment got me thinking, wouldn't an amateur fight between the two be an absolute corker. Whilst Breland didn't transition to the pro's as well as hoped (no point matching them there really) he was one hell of an Am. Over 3 rounds it's anyones. Anyone (besides Red and Street and whatever id they're in today) seen enough of em in the Am's to make a decent prediction?

it was Breland or Page, which one would you have chosen?

One thing to consider is that the 1976 US gold medalists had to work a lot harder, since they didn't have the advantage of a weak roster to compete in due to the 1984 USSR + Friends boycott. Would Henry Tillman, for instance, have been able to beat Teofilio Stevenson?

There was also a big boycott in 1976. It didn't have the same impact on boxing as the USSR in 84 but it's still worth a mention.

Yeah it wasn't hard. Just for peeps that don't know, this isn't Super Greg we're talking about, but another Page. Super Greg was busy ko'ing Coetzee for the WBA title in late 84

I think most of Africa boycotted the 1976 games, I can't remember why though....

..while Jerry Page was busy compiling something like a 15-4 record and being exposed by a decent, but less than stellar, Terrance Alli.

African nations? Probably something to do with apartheid in South Africa.
