10 best fighters of the last 30 yrs from 135-160

I posted this yesterday in the General Forun. After reading some of the responses, I wondered if it didn't fit in the Classic Forum as well. It covers an earlier period, and we sometimes get posters here with a longer view.

Post your list of the ten best boxers who had fights in the last thirty
years ** between lightwt (135 lb limit) and middlwt (160 lb limit).

Factors to considers:

Record
Quality of opponents
Domination
Titles in most weight classes
Longevity
etc.

State whether your list is based on achievement or head-to-head.


** If your pick had fights prior to 1977, (e.g. Duran) Count his entire career.

I have tabulated the results so far. Thanks to the fourteen posters here and on the General forum, who provided their lists. (Two different weighting methods of tabulation yielded the same results in terms of rank order).


Of the eighteen boxers on the various lists, only two, Roy Jones and Pernell Whittaker, appeared on everyone's list.

That might explain why Leonard was missing from Redrooster's list. He was either 1 or 2 on every other list.

Yeah, while he's at it he shouls drop Jones, put up Tarver and Johnson, since they both beat Jones.

Then to really make things stupid put Hopkins over them, because surely Hopkins beathing both of those guys is more significant than one loss to Jones.
