We have breaking news from right here in Ballys.

Dan Rafael:

Demetrius Hopkins, who is supposed to be on the undercard tomorrow, just was arrested here in the hotel and led out. The reason is for owing $16,000 in back child support payments.

I can't believe that just happened -- right out there in the hallway from the media center I am in.

Actually it's not.People with warrant's for there arrest get nabbed at work all the time.Hopkins' workplace just so happens to be in random hotels and casino's with the media always around.

The cops knew exactly where he would be and at what time...

It's is kind of ****ed up though

Cameron Dunkin says they are going to get Hopkins out and he will probably be able to fight. They are going through the paperwork and if the judge allows it, he would fight and his debt would be cleared up on Monday. So we will see what happenes.

That is the way things work in the child support system. Regardless of DHop's past, the system is completely broken. The things they do (cancel your professional license, driver's license, mess up your credit and ultimately humiliate you) only makes it harder for you to produce the money that is required to support your child.

Granted many deadbeats deserve this or more, but many parents abuse the system to get even with the other parent and alienate the children.

The whole thing is pretty ****ed up and politicians aren't interested in improving it because there's no major benefit for them.
