Even when you may still be good enough to beat most of the guys out there?

You still know within that you have lost it, after being humiliated against Pacman and before that Mayweather.

You also know you may lose against guys you are expected to beat, because its a cruel game.

I hope he does not do a Roy Jones on us.

I think his hospital visit is related to his psychological dilemma.

Am I past it?
Like I said, I don't think he should fight on. Pride, nothing more. Inability to admit that it's probably time to call it a career and reflect on what he has achieved. There are no winnable fights out there which would substantially improve his legacy.

I would not be suprised. This could turn out to be something else, though. Hope he makes a full rcovery. Obvious point but this is not the kind of health that elite level fighters have at just 30 years of age.

Quite a lot of melodrama in this thread. If it's just food or alcohol poisoning it has sod all to do with his boxing career. It may be an indication he needs to stop boozing so much though, before his liver is the size of a walnut.

I think that is the point people are making, Dan, mate. This incident doesn't exactly support Hatton's 'this all doesn't affect me' line. Remember that the guy isn't like me or you- he's an elite athlete.

Chest pains should always be taken seriously if they are unusual.

True, but if it's food poisoning then that can happen to anyone.

He's not the one slagging someone off continually from the safety of a sweaty internet cafe in ladyboyville.

Also true. This dramatic hospitalisation of Hatton story is most probably a media hypejob anyway- you know how they scrape around or anything to fill the 24/7 news demands. If it is food poisoning then he should really lay off of those dodgy kebabs.
