Default Spoiler, Tua, Rahman, Results

Rahman, Tua, Paris Win!
Saturday, September 8 2007
by Andre Courtemanche at ringside
All three headliners were victorious tonight at the Carlos Llinas International Productions show at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. In the main event, former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman needed just two rounds to impressively stop veteran Dicky Ryan with a potent body attack. Rahman had Ryan down twice in the first and finished him off via TKO at 41 seconds of the second with a wicked left hook to the stomach. In the co-featured bout, Detroit super lightweight Vernon “Iceman” Paris needed 2:43 to knock Flint’s Patrick Byrd out of the ring and into the loss column. Paris looked very impressive in scoring the first-round knockout over a normally durable opponent. David “Tuaman” Tua continued his comeback with an impressive knockout over Michigan journeyman Cerrone Fox. Tua had Fox down three times before getting the TKO at 1:41 of the second round. In sensational undercard action, Detroit super welterweight Brian Mihtar was fortunate to score a unanimous four-round (39-37 x 3) decision over Traverse City’s surprisingly determined Chris Grays; Monroe, Michigan’s Brandon “The Ghost” Little squeaked by in his action-packed pro debut by taking a razor thin but unanimous four-round decision over Saginaw’s Frederico Flores Jr.; Detroit super lightweight Larry Ventis took a very close unanimous four-round (40-36, 40-36 and 39-37) decision over tough Florida veteran Jones Petit Homme; and strawweight newcomer Tara Davis won her rematch with Chicago’s Treasure Saunders via unanimous (40-36 x 3) four-round decision.

Good to see Tua in another quick comeback fight and lighter than his last fight
