Not sure how hes doing these days..He had decent skill but unfortunetly couldnt have the success he did in the amateurs.

Still a olympic gold medal and a pro world title aint a bad level of success.
i think he's a trainer now

Leon Spinks? when was he promising - got ali in his 8th fight for a title shot after beating a padded [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] then was no more than a journeyman after the ali fights. ali was very old then and wasn't up to much

You're right about it coming down to definitions.

In my book, a dud is someone who showed promise but then never achieved anything (Perfect example: Audley Harrison)

The prince did certainly have his achievements as I mentioned in my earlier post.

So, as you say, it comes down to your definition of dud.

Gold medal Olympian and unified champ. Then he tanked and tanked hard. I meant looking promising directly after beating Ali. I'm sure many thought he was the future of the sport. Then he lost to a guy making his pro debut and a guy who retired with a 3-53 record.

everyone here is making terrible picks. A former world champion is not a dud, a solid titlist is not a dud...

That's a pretty good one. John Wesley Meekins comes to mind, back in the 70s no on was a bigger bust than Duane Bobick.

That's another good one. This guy beat everybodys ass as an amatuer and completely sucked as a pro.
