Default Anyone else get sad during Clottey vs Corrales?

I just rewatched it... and idk... i just get sad watching Corrales getting taken apart like that. Not sure exactly what it is.... anyone else feel like that during the fight? Its more then me just rooting for him during the fight, its just that... I hated seeing this warrior that has already been through so much in the ring, given us so many good wars and just.... is the definition of warrior, being taken apart by Clottey. Wanted to see him go out on a high note, but then again, someone like corrales, who fights till the death... would have done that im sure, and would never have had a good ending anyways.

Even know I havent seen the fight in its entirety. Im a big Corrales fan and after 6 rounds it was to much for me. Corrales was way out of his league in this fight. He was weak and had no handspeed. He should have never taken the fight to begin with.

BTW this and the Margarito fight have clearly overratted Clottey.

I read the title and thought, "When did Emmanuel Clottey and Joshua Clottey fight? And what was sad about it?"

As for the fight in question, I didn't feel any worse for Corrales than I do for anyone on the receiving end of a beatdown like that. If you are a big fan of Diego's, I can see why it would be hard to watch.

LOL!!!!

just cought it.... happend cuz at first i put corrales vs clottey, but then realised i should put the winner first and replaced corrales with clottey, without doing the latter.

Yes, I was sad. I was sad knowing that a second rater like Clottey was about to get credit as if he was some destructive elite fighter that only the 'cool guys' has insight on.

At least Clottey managed to show us what he really is, and what observant fans already knew, vs. the last tomato can that he fought.

A shame a battered Corrales had to the medium, but that's not as heart breaking as the overrating of a second rate gate keeper level fighter in my opinion.

I felt sad watching a great warrior take a bad beating. After that fight, I knew Corrales didn't have much left.

Nearly everything was gone after Castillo starched him in the rematch. I knew it was WAAAAAAYYY to soon for Chico to go right back in with Castillo. That was truly awful, and I think put the period on the end of Chico's career.

I think every fighters career almost always ends the same way- a shell of yourself being beaten to a pulp by a younger or less battle worn fighter. Ali, Louis, Tyson etc etc etc. We just saw it recently with Arturo Gatti. Its just the nature of the beast... ATTN Holyfield. Another bad ending could be coming for another great warrior.

The beating Clottey gave him was horrible. When I read on Fightnews that the fight was signed I thought 'the ****, is he crazy?"
