NY has more boxing gyms than any other place in the world. I find it really difficult that someone cannot find a place to train in NY. When I was working in Alabama I would drive for forty minutes one way to find a decent gym.

They told me I was too old and I didn't live in Yonkers. My age will pose a problem for local PAL's I'm guessing.......

I know NY has a LOT of gyms, but NY is one of the most expensive places to live. I CANNOT afford any of the gyms. My family is on public assistance and am a student right now, I can't afford any gyms. Believe me, I would have joined a gym a LOOOOOOOONG time ago if I can afford it. I've heard about many free gyms in the country, I figured there has to be some around me.

My father left us, so I'm drowning in debt, we're about to be evicted, I'm here taking care of my mother and aunt, they both have minimal english skills and are seniors. So 5 dollars a trip will kill me over time. I would love to go to your gym, and if I get money, it would be the first gym I would consider due to the price. But right now I'm stuck. I guess I'll have to put boxing aside for now. It's a shame, but I'll let you know if anything comes up. Thanks again.

similar situation.....
i started boxing at 17 done it for about 2 years, got ****ed over in a club..took a bit off training because of studys
started doin mma for 6 months and im now doin boxing from that club....

i fully devoted to boxing now, my oxing iq has vastly increased from constant study..
with in turn had made me a better boxer,
i really wanna become a pro boxer... i think i have the right mentality and an exciting fight style so..
i would be training for my first fight but, i have a hand injury from a few bullshit street fights i couldnt avoid.
anyway ive got a friend in the bronx and an aunt in yonkers, might be visiting in august or so...

was thinking of saving my cash to get a good few private sessions in gleasons to make up for lost time .....i really just want a trainer that will pay attention to me and help me out... im getting that right now at my gym ...but ive heard so much about gleasons , i have it in my head that goin there will greatly benefit me, would i be right?....

i not sure how long ill be goin for , last time i visited my friend it was 5 weeks so..

also il prob head over ta yonkers ta stay with my aunt too. so any recommendations there?
only willing to spend the big money in gleasons though haa

I live in the Bronx too, and I train independently.

My AIM is Jo***Fitness....hit me up so we could train together.
I was in a very similar situation to you, and I'm also 21.

Work that out first man, some things are more important. Good luck, and keep us informed.
