I think its not vs. Chekhov but in Chekhov, because that is where the training base of the national team is and where selection box-offs usually take place. Most of the guys you listed are the number 1 and 2 ranked guys in Russia...

Whats going on at 91+?
Whatever happened to Makarenko, too?

I've downloaded the fights. I got the info from the site. Seemed to be an upset in 75kgs.

OK. Thanks for claring that up. So, the winners of this will be going to the World Champs?

I don't have the fight at 91+kg.... I copied all the info from where I downloaded it.

Hang on, so who are the winners in each category? and also, the winners dont automatically go to world champs. The coach looks at the box-offs, nationals other performances and makes the choice.

I think he has retired... He said he would if he didn't qualify for Beijing cause he's won everything else, and Beterbiev went and I haven't heard anything of him boxing since.

Or are you saying the winners are the guys in the left? If so, although Chebotarev beating Kopyatkov is an upset, I think that Misha Aloyan beating Balakshin is a bigger one..

I've been checking the video again, and yes, the winners are on the left. I'm not that much into the lighter weights, but he won 11-7.

Beterbiyev is my favorite. He was robbed blind in the Olympics. I hope he wins at 81k, then turns professorial.

So Team USA reports to Colorado Springs today. I haven't heard who the national team coach is, but we're going to be in a bit of trouble now that our high-performance director resigned. :(

I would assume so. His health issues probably caught up with him.

I also really like Beterbiev. Vodopyanov is my favourite guy to watch though. I wonder how he will do at this new weight. I think Beterbiev, Vodopyanov and Selimov have the highest chances for gold.

Beterbiev was disappointing against Ivanov. Almost got an upset there too. But I guess he'll come better prepared for the World Championships.
