Default Chris Eubank vs Sumbu Kalambay

Prime for prime who wins/Sumbu might be a little slicker but Chris more then likely has more pop in his punches.

You really think Sumbu would completly outclass Eubank?

I think Sumbu would clearly beat him...probably not embarrass him though.

Kalamby was very decent and upset some good fighters but prime for prime both at their best Eubank has too much for him and beats him by a close but unanimous decision. This is a prime Eubank at his best though not the guy who turned up to his fights looking very poor.

What does Eubanks have es***, that you think will be to much for Kalambay?

Do you reckon Chris at middle was as good as McCallum?

I dont think he was no but Chris at his best has got the power and workrate to win. I dont think its impossible for Eubank to beat McCallum on his best night though although prime for prime you've gotta go with McCallum, its a fight that should have been made. Maybe I'm listening to my heart over my head and underrating Kalamby as a Eubank fan but Kalamby lost in his prime against unlikely opponents, Eubank didnt.

I'm not really sure if Eubank necessarily has the workrate to win. He fought at his own pace, coasting if needed, which made some fights closer than they should have been. At times he was given some questionable decision wins.

The only loss that truly tarnishes Kalambay's record is the one round KO loss to Nunn but I feel he shouldn't be counted out based on that performance only. He did after all beat McCallum, Graham, Barkley, Collins, DeWitt and Sims, and he displayed great skills in all of those fights.

I uploaded a couple of Kalambay fights on youtube this past week:

Well in regards to Sumbu losing to "unlikely" opponants in his prime..His loss to a very good fighter in Kalule seems to be disputed..from the half a dozen guys who have seen it on this forum all but one I think saw it for Kalambay and thought it quite a bizarre decision seeing it was basically in his hometown.
Nunn just caught him cold and I reckon if they fought 10 more times the fight would never go down like that again..Either way I dont think Eubanks is like Micheal, I dont think he has the tools to do that to Sumbu..Though he has other quite impressive ones.
By the time the McCallum rematch came along he was already on the way out and that was a very close fight anyway.

Eubank is class..No reason to think he might be able to do this but I just have a hard time seeing how. I dont think he has the physical gifts or power of a Nunn at middle, and I dont think he has the right skillset to deal with a truly masterful technician like Kalambay.

You may very well be right. Kalamby is very underrated probably by me as well. I havent seen the fight with McCallum for ages and the one against DeWitt I havent seen at all. I'll have a look.

I think Eubanks jab would give Kalambay problems along with the fact that Eubank wouldn't pursue Kalambay either.Interesting match up either way you look at it.

Graham embarassed Eubank in sparring. Sumbu is capable of a 9-3 type of decision in my opinion.

Kalambay, without a doubt. He'd have boxed circles around Eubank. Kalambay is so underrated its criminal.

Eubank has too much WHAT for him? I swear Eubank is so overrated.

Kalambay on the night he beat McCallum, would beat Eubank by a wide margin.

Eubank was a ***** who wanted no parts of McCallum, Nunn, Toney, and Jones.
