Good lord, white people and their google-eyed idolatry of Marciano. It never will stop entertaining me.
He was considered to be a weak champion in his own era, a placeholder who was not near as good as prime Louis or Dempsey or Johnson. |

First of all I am no Marciano fan. I do however respect and understand true fighting ability. Marciano was rated below that of Johnson, Dempsey and Louis and he still is by those who are in the know. Nothing has changed. Fleischer who came from the OLD school of Johnson and Dempsey still rated Marciano in his top 10 all time.

Marciano did not employ any "ultra low crouch" most of the time. Watch some actual Marciano fights for a change. Most of the time, he's in his usual stance, and it's far from an ultra low crouch. Moreover, it is very hard to box out of a low crouch. You can't move around the ring very quickly in that kind of stance. This is boxing, not wrestling. How is Wlad going to establish any offense? Oh I don't know. How did a decrepit old Louis manage to land jabs on Marciano? And those jabs were moving in slow motion and had nowhere near the impact that Wlad's jab would. Marciano doesn't have the footspeed to get past the jab easily. Wlad's footwork is too good and will keep the runt at the end of the monster jab. Even if Marciano is able to get inside occasionally, he won't be able to do anything meaningful. Wlad can shove him across the ring Foreman style, or just turn and step out of it. When Wlad drops the right hand or the left hook on him, he might put Marciano's lights out with one punch. There is no evidence whatsoever that Marciano can take Wlad's power. It is highly unlikely. |

Everyone knows Rockys an all time great and he is an all time great because of many characteristics.....characteristics one always looks for within an all time great fighter. Wlad goes down in sections when hit cleanly, utterly collapses. Purity knocked him out. Wlad stumbled all over the ring with that im done get me out of here look in his eyes. You see the same with Brewster, same with Sanders. Great fighters don't have very suspect durability. Great fighters dont want to give up when hurt. Fighters who have suspect durability and dont want to continue when seriously hurt are not beating a champion like Marciano. Marciano would knock him out.

Vlad comes out faster than usual trying to KO Marciano quickly, knowing that's his only chance. Marciano after taking a few bombs thinks "fukk this, this guy can hit. And he's huge. I better KO the bastard quickly" so he does. Round 3. Brutal KO

Your also the guy who thinks Joe Louis was the most overrated champion, Ali was not a great fighter and Charley Burley was nothing special but the walking statue who falls from the breeze of a hard punch, look like he wants to quit when hit and exhibits no ability to slip, block, parry, feint and counter can beat them all right? Lets see Louis is rated by everyone in the top 2 all time hwt champion and has been rated that high for 50 years. Ali has been rated top 2 for 30-40 years. Rated not by fans but by trainers and historians down through the years. What are you missing?

It's styles that make fights most of all. Not "heart" as judged by clowns raised on western flicks. Get all that cowboy bullshit out of here. In reality, the "pussy" sometimes (often) beats the so-called "tough guy". |

I have always rated Marciano at top, but now with guys over 6'6" becoming more common, there are naturally going to be more of them with skills of Klitschko. There is a point where the size does become an issue. Overall, pound for pound and head to head against tall past champs, Marciano. Head to head agisnt each other, ??? If more guys in 5'10 to 6'1" range step up and fight Klitschko's, we would know more.
I think Marziano's reflexes woild keep him from getting nailed so easy on way in, and if he gets close, he would not let self get toied up so easy |
