Default Best fighter of the 1980's

We've done the '70's on here fairly recently. My choice would be out of Larry Holmes,Ray Leonard and Marvin Hagler. Honourary mention to Mike Tyson.

I'd probably say Hagler or Leonard as well.

I'd say Leonard. He may not have been as active as some of the others, but he beat Duran, Hearns, Hagler, plus a few respectable guys in Kalule and Lalonde.

Leonard, even though it seems to have become criminal to like him these days!!

I hope those who are saying Hagler also have Hagler above SRL in the ATG standings, as apart from the Benitez win, all of Leonards best work was in the 80's.

Thats Hagler a couple of months before he fought Leonard. No gay vibes at all. You were simply complimenting another mans physique.

Its Leonard but if Hagler had beaten him it would probably have swung the other way.

JT. Where would you possibly place Hagler? Personally I think he's right behind Leonard. His 7 year reign from 1980 to 1987 is rather solid. He certainly had longevity at the top with two or three big wins.
