The whole thing with Hatton that I wonder about..is what is he going to do on the outside...I mean he has 0 outside game ..he HAS to smother guys to win..and his holding is frequent and used as a tactic to not get beaten up on the outside....I just think floyd will bring the fight where hatton dont want to be and when Hatton tries to clinch a backing up mayweather he will get tagged and floyd will get away and if hatton gets tired which HE DOES...he is toast.

Witter a real boxer don't make me laugh the way he fights makes me want to go to sleep. I mean at least the hatton fight with castillo was entertaining I mean you had the atmopshere and one of those sickening shots. Yes I am an hatton fan as pirhana as suggested on many occassions when we have disagreed on a certain point but i discredit the fact that he said I wasn't a true boxing fan. Yes PBf is brilliant I just think he bitten of more than he can chew especially now he his in srictly come dancing.

Much love bro, but hatton wont stay on the outside You're rightthough in that regard, on the outside?? Its Floyd all day long. Thats precisely why ricky's style is what it is. Cant blame him, a fighter is going to do what he does best. Thing is??? Where has floyd been active enough to impose you're scenario??? Its been A LONG TIME!!!! Its a see saw and whoever gets more time in their element?? Is the winner!!! Hatton will not go quietly into that good night

Sharmba Mitchell (at what age? - 35, 36?) Zab Judah - straight after a terrible, terrible loss Baldo And now, fighting the best 140 fighter out his weight class. at Welter. Dozens and dozens of guys could have done that at welter. |

I don't think he is the greatest welterweight of all time. I don't think most people think he is the greatest welterweight of all time. When we talk about matchups between the greatest heavyweights, people will throw in Frazier, people will throw in Foreman, people will throw in Bowe as names for hypothetical fights when we are talking about HW greats. Most people agree that neither of those three are the greatest HW ever, but that they deserve to be in the discussion, especially when talking about hypothetical matchups. I think Mayweather deserves to be a part of the discussion is all. Not all of Mayweather's opponents have been world beaters, but he does have a pretty damn good resume. Also, the WAY in which he beats his, admittedly not always the best, opposition is incredible. Typically he TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY outclasses his opposition, which is very important. |

He LOOKS like you possibly could include him in the discussion - but there's really no convincing counter arguments for him. You can't say BASED ON xyz that he did, then I think.. like you can with Hearns, SRL etc. He has done nothing at welterweight to convince me he should be part of that discussion. Nor at light welter either to be honest. |

Hatton did break 4 ribs with that punch on castillo, an average fighter can beat a good one with the perfect shot... not saying hatton is average, or that it will happen, but it always could.

not this stupid shit again. kostya and ricky fought in june of 2005. tszyus last bout was in november of 2004 where he impressively demolished sharmba mitchell in three rounds. next you'll be wheeling out the 'oh but it was 2am!!' excuse. next time, research your facts before you start forcing your agenda you dumb ****. |

Well, venue DOES matter in this case. Had this fight been in Manchester I'd have closed the book on a Mayweather win long ago.
Ricky Hatton is going to have some difficulty I think playing by the rules in Nevada. They will basically ensure that he cannot smother Floyd. We see it all the time, which is a constant break of the action/distance by the ref. This is all business by Mayweather and he knows what he is doing. Hatton's best chance is to fight off of his chest, smother anything Mayweather can do and pound him out. I just don't see the Nevada officials letting him do that. That said, I'll go with the upset anyways. Hatton IS faster than DLH and will jump in and get Mayweather where DLH couldn't. Even if the ref constantly breaks them up I like Hatton's chances at getting in and landing clean before that happens. |
