I am a great fan of Julio Cesar Chavez. I think that he has one of the best records of all time. But I noticed a very strange thing in his record.
On the 13th of December 1991, he fought a guy named Ignacio Pedromo in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico in a 10 round fight. It was JCC's 67th fight. The really strange part is that his opponent, Ignacio Pedromo, had a record of 1-0-0 coming into the Chavez fight. Almost as strange is that Pedromo lasted a full seven rounds and could not come out for the 8th. The fight is listed as an 8th round TKO for JCC. What do you guys think about a champion like Chavez, in his prime, fighting a guy with only one fight under his belt? |

I actually might have that fight...Doesnt ring a bell but Ive got a fair few of these Chavez tune ups fights that I dont think Ive ever really bothered watching...they just came on a dvd that had more important fights of his.
Its tweaked my interest now...Id like to see how that fight actually panned out. |
