Default Re: who wins ? ray leonard vs. terry norris , at 154 both prime

This is no easy fight, for either man. Norris when on song was excellent at 154, his perfect weight. As far as pure boxing goes, it's closely matched. Norris had excellent hand speed, very good mobility, a nice punch selection and a punch that anyone has to respect. Not great power, but certainly he had some pop.
About the only area I can fault him on, well two areas really, was that his chin did let him down once or twice (even Brett Lally had him on the floor if I recall) and he tended to brawl when he didn't need to.
If Norris boxes, it's a fight that could go either way. If he gets too brave and brawls, Leonard will capitalise and stop him. Leonard was a very good finisher.

The Ayub Kalule fight took place in 1981. A few months before the first Hearns fight. This was during Leonards prime.

A lot of people are dismissing Norris as a nobody here. 154 was his perfect weight, I think he could probably pull off a decision.
