I think you're right about the lack of sparring.

I also see he's not in ideal physical condition, in fact he has been gradually gained weight. If he's lose some excess pounds he'd likely have better stamina. He doesn't "turn it up" for the KO sometimes because he gets tired after throwning a few hard shots.

For the third time Pulev's opponent was changed.... Now it's Michael Sprott (according to boxrec...). Seems we are back to the Oleg Platov's saga. For sure Sprott must be easier opponent then Bidenko or Haris

Dominant win for Pulev. Not so attractive, but very clear. He received not more then 4-5 clear shots for entire match. Sprott seems not been in best condition. Next for Kubrat is probably European belt after shoulder surgery for Helenius.

Impressive win yesterday for Pulev although you could tell Sprott only took the fight on short notice, was carrying a bit of a belly which is unusual for him. 2012 should be a good year for Pulev. Has a debutant ever looked as good as that?

I think Dimitrenko would be a good next fight for Pulev, and the final nail on the coffin in the ukranian's career.

I would love to see Kubrat against Seth Mitchell or Bermane Stiverne.

Well, even if it fails... I'm sure Oleg Platov would be avaliable

By Ruslan Chikov

As reported last week, the European Boxing Union announced that heavyweights Alexander Dimitrenko (32-1, 21 KOs) and Kubrat Pulev (15-0, 7 KOs) would battle for the vacant EBU heavyweight title. The belt was vacated when champion Robert Helenius had to undergo shoulder surgery, which is going to require several months of rehabilitation.

For Pulev, this is the first tough test of his entire career. Promoter by Sauerland Event, Pulev is one of their rising heavyweight prospects. Dimitrenko, experienced and dangerous, is promoted by Universum. Recently, Dimitrenko and Universum exchanged words in the media. Whether Dimitrenko withdraws from the bout is unknown, but Pulev is ready to fight.

"It's a great honor. In 2008, I managed to become the amateur champion of Europe. Now I want to repeat the same feat [as a pro]. Dimitrenko is a strong opponent, but I will do everything to beat him," Pulev said.
Well at least Pulev wants the fight.

Was it three or four times they tried to make that fight?

On Monday it will be finally decided if Kubrat will fight Dimitrenko or Boytsov. It all depends on Universum. One think is clear, his next fight will be on 31 March in Germany.
