Kubrat just landed in Sofia from Germany. He talked again about Klitschko and also said that he wanted to use more his right hand against Ustinov, but was uncomfortable with him. So, he's just happy that the jab worked out

watched him for the first time against no boxer ustinov, he looked pretty mobile but compared to a slow tank shaped boxer like ustinov anyone would look fast, he controlled the fight and deserved the win, the fight was no yardstick whatsoever, though. He still got hit a few times by ustinov who relied on his slow telegraphed right hand the only thing he had.

Pulev is solid at best and will get KTFO by klitschko if they ever meet, imo no world stage material. Have to admit the ustinov fights the only one I have seen of his.

As former champ Helenius right now is moved to official challenger for EBU title. The fight probably will take place at the Sauerland's January. It was pretty much sure that Robert must make a warm up fight on 10 November in Finland, but it's possible that the fight will be moved back to 3-rd November on Marko Huck card.

Still noting official, but stay tuned in this legendary thread

That confuses me. I like both these guys and don't think its best for either and especially for Sauerland. I know Robert was #1 in the EBU before but how has he maintained that ranking during his entire injury hiatus?

After a tune up they should try and get Robert someone like Fury not have their two best prospects fight eachother.

this is the problem with boxing these days: guys like Helenius and Fury, who should be fighting each other, are fighting the Rogans Maddalones of our day, because the promotional companies are doing everything they can to make money off thier fighter for as long as possible with as little risk as possible involved

Well if there's truth to this I suspect Pulev/Sauerland vacate the European title and allow Helenius a somewhat easy shot at taking that. Pulev has the IBF mandatory position now anyway so would have to vatate the European title to fight Wlad anyway.

Fury's only had 19 fights with only a handful of AM fights. You're making the Britard mistake of building up 'their' fighters into World class fighters when they've done very little in the game. The Rogans and Maddalones of the World are the type of fighter he should have fought at this stage.

my point is that prospects should be fighting prospects, they are not going to get anything other than rounds under thier belt fighting cab drivers and pizza salesmen, even if they have little or no AM experience

Pulev-Helenius would be awesome fight! Pulev has great skills, but he had some troubles with Dimi and took some right hands from him. If he does the same with Helenius it's good night for him!

Pulev must make the obligatory defense against challenger of the title in nine months after he claim it. He won it in May, so he must defend it until February, otherwise he must vacate it. A win over Robert Helenius will make huge impact and for sure will build up the next match to be for world title. Kubrat do not want to lose time, he will make 32 in May.
Even with a loss Helenius will have a chance once again to fight for European title after Kubrat vacates it, because he is from Sauerland and he is former champ. He still be close to the EBU ranks.

If Helenius wins he as well may pave his way to a bout with Wladimir for world title. Then he will vacate Euro title and Pulev once again will get a chance to take it back.

I am not sure if Helenius sholder is fully healed. As i read somewhere he's got problems with it, because the operation revealed bigger damage

The Finnish fighter snapped a ligament in his right shoulder in connection with a fall while running.
Consequently two other ligaments have loosened, and in the operation the boxer's collarbone also has to be fiddled with.

I wish Robert to be fully healed and to continue his career. I am sure he will accept a fight with Pulev! And all the fans will be satisfied.
