who wins ? ray leonard vs. terry norris , at 154 both prime

i say leonard.
leonard fought hagler a close fight.
stopped a prime hearns and went the distance with him another time.
the first to stop benitez , hearns later won a MD over him.
leonard was good 147-160.
somehow even won a title at 175 , he was far from being a legit 175 ,
lalonde also wasn't really a legit 175 , weighing 167 at the weighins.
does anyone imagine terry norris doing any of these ?
he only fought at 154 , retired aged 30 , stopped 4 times , lost 9.
leonard also was a terrific amateur , stopping andres aldama who stopped mccallum and outpointed mugabi.
for me a stoppage at the amateurs counts even more than at the pro's , when it's between two grown men.
to stop someone wearing a headgear at less than full 4 rounds , is more impressing.

Leonard. Proven his metal against better fighters than Norris. He was more durable than Norris, better ring generalship, quicker hands, and just plain better across the board.

Probably a better fight than most would give it credit for on the surface, but yes I take Leonard by a points win or perhaps a late stoppage. One of the thing that Norris was able to capitalize on in their 1991 matchup, was the fact that Leonard's legs were basically gone, as was most of his hand and foot speed. Ray still took him the full 12 rounds, and possibly even won 2 or 3 of them. A fully primed Leonard of 7-10 years earlier who stood up to the power of peak version of Duran and Hearns, isn't getting dropped by Norris and nor would he be there to get hit as often.. Additionally, his ability to finish men off and land quick combinations in small but effective bursts was very much a factor in the early 80's, whereas it was no where to be seen from about 1987 onward...

Judging by the way Leonard struggled against Ayub Kalule I have trouble seeing him beating Norris. Norris has all the physical tools to beat Leonard. If Norris were a shopworn fighter in his mid-30s, yeah, maybe then. But a young prime Norris likely has too many guns for Leonard at 154 lbs. I'm not saying Leonard couldn't pull it off. But I wouldn't pick him to win.

Judging buy the way Norris struggled with Simon Brown and Julian Jackson i cannot see him beating a prime Ray Leonard. Leonards jab is as hard as Browns for sure !
