Yeah, he's fucked legacy wise if dominated. It is really up in the air even if he gets beat, freakishly. Finally, if he wins its absolutley rock solid, and another big win could put him over the top.

Calzaghe legacy will be shit even if he dominates Kessler.
Right after Kessler loses he become another overrated B-level fighter, no better than Beyer or Lacy. From the long standing point of view Joe need beat Jones/Hopkins/Woods. After 20 years nobody will remember who Lacy or Kessler was. |

's?If Calzaghe is dominated by Kessler, he will still be remembered as a top 10 super middleweight all time because of his unbeaten streak, his unification of the WBO and IBF titles, and the number of title defenses. However, he would be remembered by most as the guy with all the title defenses who was badly beaten by the best fighter he faced. If he wins, he has a case to be the greatest at 168 - when looking at resumes, not head to head ability. Just my 2 cents |

What brooklyn said really. JC still remained unbeaten throughout most of his career and more importantly - showed great skills in the process.. By skill and talent he will be remembered.
If this happens, its up to Kessler to secure JCs legacy even more. |

If Kessler beats Joe at 35 in a close fight, it won't hurt Calzaghe's legacy that much, depending on how he lost and what Kessler goes on to achieve. Strangely, a win for an over the hill Calzaghe against a prime Kessler maybe hurts Calzaghe's legacy more as Kessler is open to being called another bum... a good B level boxer. I don't think Kessler is a B level boxer but you can see where I'm coming from. If the 35 year old Joe beats Mikkel clearly, Joe's resume will still lack a "proven champion" - a man who beat the man, if you will.
If Kessler dominates Calzaghe, I will be more surprised than seeing Kenya enter a last minute team into the world series and winning every game. |

Well, he beat "The middleweight version of Prime Tyson", so he has had a career defining fight in the bag.
If he loses he can probably put it down to shotness, and so he cannot truly lose. |
