Default Why doesn't Vitaly just skip training?

It seems to work all right for Sam Peter, James Toney, Shannon Briggs, Sergei Lyacovich, and Sutan Ibrigamov.

In today's heavyweight division, training is alomst cheating.

I think he trains so hard so he can win impressively. Obviously he stayed in great shape even while he was retired.

LOL

Good point. I guess if he were to stop training, he'd no longer risk being injured during training, and would still be about as well prepared as many other heavies.

But I doubt he'd ever come into a fight unless he's ultra prepared. He believes in being 100% ready and fully trained. But lately, that seems to be working against him.

Well, I overstated for humorous effect, but there is a serious point.

With his size. talent and experience, all he really has to do is light sparring, and maybe get a ski machine (very easy on the body) and its all been done. There just is no reason for him to be intensively training.
