Even I agree Froch isn't worth £5mill, clearly Mitchell has either got it wrong or Hopkins is bullshitting like anything. But I can see Froch being worth more than Adamek, especially after the Taylor fight.

Yeah he's worth so much that he can't get a TV deal. Froch is only worth whatever he can get into a stadium. Which is a decent amount, but nothing compared to the revenue generated by fighting stateside on HBO.

For arguments sake, lets say he was. I guess the premise is that he should've took this and not entered the super six...which is even worse then getting those figures wrong as it either suggests that Froch had a serious chance of beating Hopkins or is just belittling this tourney.

Let me tell Kevin that Carl gets thoroughly schooled! its probabily the worst stylistic match-up for him. Hopkins would keep spinning like 20 inch rims. would never give him the same look twice and keep coming from so many different angles. Stage left, stage right, right cross, lead right, baby left hooks, a boxing 101 that the Cobra maybe never recovers his form from those short six inch punches and hip shots on the blindside of the referee and he certainly doesn't make any moolah again. his style lends to a worser beating/schooling then Tito and the Ghost got so where would he have gone from there?

This cannot be right. £5mil is about $7.5mil. Considering HBO were only offering $3mil for the Hopkins vs Adameck fight, where would the rest of the cash come from?

Kevin Mitchell is known for getting things mixed up or bending the truth, he claimed last week that Mayweather weighd 20lbs more that Marquez when they were in the ring LOL
Would much rather Froch be in this super six tournament then fight Hopkins. And Jeff Powell once said that Juan Manuel Marquez and Cotto had a great scarp.

£2M then. Sounds about right.

I thought the reason it never was seriously looked into is because Hopkins demanded £5million to fight Froch (not offered Froch 5 mil). And there clearly wasn't that much money in it. I remember that being reported at the time as a rumour (maybe Bunce hour).
That sounds errmmm... on the money to me. So to speak.
