Holmes-Cooney is the classic example here, upsets like Tyson-Douglas, Hagler-Leonard even don't really count as they were big upsets and almost everyone picks the fave in these scenarios. Also, did Tyson-Spinks remind the author because nearly everyone got it 'right'? Not a great deal picked Spinks to win (although I did in school in the vain hope of doing a Ron Borges a few years before).

The one that came to mind when I saw this thread was Holmes-Ali. I don't remember what the breakdown was as far as who picked whom, but I do remember sentimental Ali picks, including Sports Illustrated.
