Default Punches per round

What in amateur is considered a high work rate is it the same as the pros or is it less per round??

Idk, there really isn't a set amount since most amateurs throw their hands as if they are helicopter blades.

lol this is very true, but moreso in novice then open.

I've seen and been in a few very nice tactical fights where very few punches were thrown. But yes, they are a rarity. The reason often is in the quality of judging. If one guy is scoring nice counters, and only maybe 3-4 a round, and the other guy is letting fly and hitting nothing but mitts and guard, overwhelmingly...is a good chance the windwill might win like that unfortunately.

Go to any amateur boxing event, there was a gym who came in to spar with us, and each and every one of those fighters fought like that.

it really does depend. fights on the elite level are now 3x3 not 4x2. punch output and workrate has to increase.

now that they are 3 min rounds you'll need to class yourself as a pro.

25 to 45 is average potshotter like floyd or jones or hopkins.
45 to 65 is high workrate, good punch output guys like hatton and cotto.
65 to 100 is for the special guys like williams and ouma.
