been working with a guy who did Karate and now does MMA
the guy loves this stuff drills we do is normally just shadow boxing with a big band looped round your back and you hold either end. Another one we do is we get like a bungee cord and wrap it round the ring post and punch with it 1 handed for a set amoutn of time. i feel the difference from it. |

My trainer had a cd with some dutch guy shouting out combos for boxing and thai boxing, we used resistance bands to do this one day and that was really good, tough to keep up though.

Jeff - there is so much that you can do with bands.
Punch drills and combinations Oral stability/postural alignment - see scrap Strength work - be it progressive resistance, explosive strength or muscular endurance (band box squats are an amazing exercise) My favorite is core workouts with bands Excellent for rehabilitation and flexibility Have a look here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] And here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Hope this helps |

One exercise I do. Loop the band around the ring post (or something similar). Get in your boxing stance, with the handles held at your waist, and then explode your arms up so they are fully extended in front of you, slightly higher than they would be when they are extended out for a punch. Hold for a second and then return to the starting position. Really works your arms and shoulders. |
