He made Cotto seem not as strong as he claimed to be, he took some of Cotto's punches flush and showed no effects of being hurt. I think that was important in attempting to discourage Cotto.
I seen an ESPN interview with Manny and he seemed like he was beat up pretty bad even though he won, and he kinda hinted to being hurt but not showing it. He ear was swollen, both eyes were swollen, one of his hands were swollen ... Manny won the fight with guts, brains, and determination ... nothing physical ... this is a perfect set up for a ultra-mega-super fight with Floyd Mayweather ... Thoughts on Manny psychological tactics |

I agree. Pac asking for more punches as he lay on the ropes had to be demoralizing for Cotto. Team Pac had a brilliant game plan for this fight. My hats off to them.

Manny said in the interview that boxing is mental and you have to pretend your opponent can't hurt you.
I was surprised Manny said that because he revealed his strategy and now if he fights Floyd, Floyd will know he could be faking. Of course a lot of boxers pretend not to be hurt by their opponent, but most of them can't pull it off and are on the losing end of the fight. Manny thoroughly convinced me that he was wasn't being hurt by Cotto's punches. |

![]() So, because I don't show my emotions in Poker and I tell my opponents, I will lose? What Pac said is not a secret, except possibly for retards. |

The reason why Cotto didn't go after Pacquiao when Pacquiao was hurt because Cotto wasn't aware that he had any effect on Pac ... I think he lost confidence in his strength ... completely ...

yes! when he went back to his corner they told him not to fight his fight. It was all pac. That was very risky for a small guy to take shots like that but he did what he had to do to win. |
