Eye focus?

I was told that you should keep your eyes focused on your opponent's chest ie watching is hands, but yesterday an experienced boxer told me that you should always be looking at your opponent's eyes to see what hes going to do next??

Meh I dunno. There are a lot of cues. It really depends. Sometimes you can even see in a persons feet they are about to do something, as in, throw a right, or left, thrust forward a certain way off the ropes. The transfer of balance begins there. But I don't recommend you start looking at their feet all of a sudden. haha.

Lookin at the eyes seems counter productive. I dont know what exactly I look at but may have to agree with RDJ, the big picture. Its amazing how much better a boxer you become when you relax and are able to observe your opponent and react appropriately.

I always look at the eyes, because right before he punches, Tyson blinks with the same eye.

No, actually I agree with RDJ. Look for the whole picture. But if you have to focus, the chest is a better bet than the eyes.

i usually watch there hands when there feet are not moving

when they are moving around i just go by there body position and over all actions, which causes my reactions.

the first place i was taught to look was while i did karate, and that was at the notch in the neck between the clavicles. you can tell an awful lot about someone's intentions from that spot. i kept that when i started boxing and it's worked fine for me so far.
