Harada vs Jofre II

Being a while since the last time........just re-watched it.....

Harada : 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15

Jofre: 1, 7, 10, 11, 12

10-5 Harada

Pretty different from the last time I scored it.....

That´s the first time I saw Harada as the winner in both fights......

Always thought Harada won the rematch....but never in the first one... like I said in my previous post yeasterday......

just watched armstrong vs ross.

this guy is a lot better than i remember seeing him. i mean I'm not saying he's pernell whitaker or anything, well I kind of am actually, his defence was superb, even a great technician like ross. he slipped so many punches in close it was an amazing display of defence combined with super effective aggression. his accuracy wasn't amazing and sometimes he was leaping in with left hooks, but his accuracy was good enough for an accumulation affect to begin. Obviously his ring generalship in that fight was top notch as well; he bossed ross from start to end.

Very impressive display by armstrong. Definitely one of the best filmed fighters around.

I'd go (judging purely on peak filmed performance)

I'm gonna watch the fight with garcia and the rematch vs ambers also, see if I still conclude they're robberies.

just watched arsmtrong vs ambers, not really sure how anyone could score it to ambers tbh. seems a close but clear armstrong victory to me.

same with henry vs ceferino 2, garcia barely lands a punch for long stretches of each round. that's quite a clear armstrong victory.

it doesn't overly matter in the grand scheme because anyone who cares enough to watch them will see henry's supremacy and I doubt he'd have continued to defend his lw title and I also douibt he'd have sought to unify the mw titles.

still, for a guy from so long ago, he looks amazing on film every time i'[ve seen him.

Finished watching basilio vs de marco (I think it's better performance than he put up against saxton in 56 and against robinson when he won the mw belt).

quite a strange fighter giving his reputation.

a mid range fighter with high activity, decent power (nothing to right home about though imo) and a cast iron chin. he spoilt up close and sometime took a good few back steps till he was in the range he wanted. he's not the best fighter i've watched lately but he's a bit better on film than apostoli who is currently bottom of my pile atm.

I'm not sure what to class as his peak performance though, he definitley looks better for me against de marco than he does against robinson but robinson is....well...robinson. even if it was 10 years past his best and after a 3 year retirement and 5 losses. he was more dominant against a de marco in my books anyways.

not saying the victory is greater, but i'm saying i'd use it as his peak performance....i think.

Did you watch the Full version ? I only watched the highlights....25-30 minutes or something.....

it shows highlights of each round and unless ambers dominated the unseen bits (which judging by reports, he didn't) then I see it as a close but clear win for armstrong and i'm happy with that view unless there's a significant reason why I shouldn't.

The reports and footage hint strongly that armstrong deserved the victoyr.

No requirement for a scorecard with either of these:

Trinidad v Oba Carr, really thought Carr applied himself well here, he was a solid but limited boxer. Trinidad was a fan's dream. I think he'd be number 2 pound for pound today behind Mayweather.

Simon Brown v Terry Norris I, I don't think there has ever been a worse chin on a high level boxer than Norris. Got me thinking of other jabs that have knocked fellas down or sent them on queer street...one springs to mind in a must-see fight is Mark Breland v Aaron Davis. Go and find this fight and watch it!

Matthew Macklin v Jamie Moore, for my money the best domestic British contest I have seen. Just so much to be grateful for as a fan from both boxers that night.

I need to watch this again and I didn´t read the reports....I´m a big fan of Ambers, but as far as I remember you´re right about that....
