Randall SD12 Chavez .
Randall seemed 2 land more during d early rds , with a varied arsenal of punches , was competitive in d late rds , enjoyed his KD of Chavez in d 11th rd , and a point deduction from Chavez (punches 2d hips) in d 10th i believe . Chavez really went a lot 2 Randall's hips in this fight , not just in that rd , and was warned prior 2 it so d point deduction was not a malicious 1 .
Randall seemed impressive in this fight , and don't forget that he was 1 year older than Chavez so he gets almost full credit 4 this win . Only thing against him was that Chavez was usually d 1 coming forward and that he still was past his prime but so was Randall . I believe that Randall would have beaten Chavez in his prime as well , becasue Randall would have also been prime then and it's hard 2 imagine Chavez having much more success then , but not totally sure about it .

Whitaker KO1 Nazario , Rosario "UD12" Ramirez (#1 , finally) , Rosario KO2 Bramble , in this order . Seems like a bit of a miss I didn't watch these fights earlier .

Nazario showed again that a champion who wins/retains his title on cuts (against Rosario in his case) and does not grant n immediate rematch is not a real champion .

Rosario "won" against Ramirez only because they fought in Rosario's country , Puerto Rico . Ramirez was d aggressor almost every 2nd of every rd , did more damage in more of d rds but got d decision overturned against him .

Still couldn't find Randall vs Rosario #1 , #2 , Primo Ramos vs Frankie Randall and Ramirez vs Olivares .

Seth Mitchell TKO3 Chazz Witherspoon .
Witherspoon began d 1st rd retreating , ended it attacking Mitchell with combinations . 10-9 Witherspoon
Mitchell won d 2nd staggering Witherspoon and won in d 3rd staggering Witherspoon and finishing him .

I watched it by d inspiration of d Hook .

I say that in a way Welliver vs Mitchell will b Tyson vs Louis this June finally being held after a cranky time machine was finally built and brings a softer Joe Louis vs a softer , more injured post prison Tyson against each other .

4 your enjoyment :

and d source of ispiration :

Pity a poll 4 picking d winner can't b posted in here .
Just remember it's Tyson vs Louis when u vote .

Yep, Ward will shut him out.

Then hopefully Bute will move up after he handily beats Froch. Pretty sure of a stoppage there.

Bute-Ward is a very interesting matchup though.

McCall vs Lewis #2 4d 3rd or 4th or moreth time .
Like in d 1st fight , McCall didn't lose a rd until something went wrong . or more precisely , d already existing problem errupted after d 3rd rd i believe when McCall refused 2 sit down during d break and then stopped initiating anything and just turned his back , his side 2 Lewis , showboated , flexed , sometimes went in2 Lewis without even holding , and what not , just refused 2 fight but did not agree 2 quit . Barry McGuigan said it had 2b a DQ , not a TKO .
Anyway it was a bullshit fight and a bullshit stoppage , i've never blamed Mills Lane 4 stopping this fight , but maybe i should , if it was supposed 2b a DQ ?

Cautious Clay vs Alonzo Johnson .
Disgusting fight , as usual with Clay , not much 2 say .
I wonder if other "lesser" fighters than Clay would have found Alonzo Johnson as ustoppable as Clay did if they were 19 and instead of him .
Foreman , Frazier , Tyson , Wladimir , Tua , McCall .
I know they were still amateurs or just debutted @ that age , but suppose they debutted 1 year earlier than they did . Would that have been Johnson's source of hope against them ?
Just a matter 4 thought .
Rick Roufus vs Rob Kaman #1 , #2 , seen yesterday and 2day respectively were much more fun 2 watch .

I had it 117-111. 116-112 could be argued. Cotto did better than expected.

This is true, however read this pathetic story of sour grapes...

Quote:
Very unprofessional of Cotto to blow off both the in ring and post fight press conferences. Surprising as well because Cotto is known as one of the classiest fighters around.

Here is what Cotto people had to say.

“We disagree with the decision taken by the judges and that’s basically our position,” said Bryan Perez, a friend and spokesman for the boxer.

“Later this week, we’ll make a little conversation with the press to express his feelings that he” said.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Penagaricano, his legal adviser, said the silence is because “is a protest. He is very good. He made a great fight I think he won and there is a disagreement with the decision of the judges but must be respected, but the decision does not reflect what happened there. “

I think I might give him a bit of a pass for this...For starters, I prefer this approach than having him say something he might come to regret, like Juan Manuel Lopez or to a lesser extant like DLH after both Mosley fights.

Second reason is based on the following line of reasoning, using this example...

George Chuvalo is regarded to this day as one of boxing's classiest fighters. And to this day, if you ask him how he did against Ali the second time around, he'll tell you he won the fight. No one else who saw, or who will see the fight would say the same thing....But, imo, he's entitled to that opinion..After all, he was the one who went 12 rounds with Ali, and he did do better than expected against him.

If Cotto thinks he won the fight against Mayweather and feels disappointed and embittered about it, that's his right. It may not be justified, imo but it's not like I put my heart and soul into the task of trying to defeat him inside the ring.

That being said, I had the fight scored 8-3-1. Could make a case for it being 8-4, and Cotto certainly did perform pretty well in defeat.

I agree with Harold Lederman in giving Sims the 4th and 8th and no more.

Perfect example of boxing and brawling with Diaz. 20 years old beating a 31 year old. Impressive in itself. Awesome body work and use of the jab by young Diaz. Sim hung in tough but Diaz woulden't be denied.

Hops-Taylor 2

Hops- 3,4,7,8,9,10,12
JT- 2,5,6,11

Even- 1

116-113 Hopkins 7-4-1

Again, the judges favored activity over effectiveness though this, Joppy, and Pavlik 2 are the best examples of Taylor boxing. No love for punches in the clinches? Probably what cost Hopkins both fights though I felt the first was more clear as this was the only close fight of the series. As Hopkins found the left hook and right hand while having more success witht the jab he kept the fight more competitive. Taylor should've threw much more body pucnhes which hurt his chances. Beautiful jab battle and distance battle plus very underrated fights though I disagreed with both results. All in all I love B-Hop and respect JT. loved this series.
