Just rewatched Holmes v spoon.
Can't believe I ever found 7 rounds for Larry before. Spoon beats him at pretty much every juncture he outjabs him outpunches him, outdefends him and basically proved his superiority over 12 rounds. It's not a huge stretch to say he was the best in the world at this point until he lost to Thomas who lost to berbick who lost to the youngest champ in he history. |

Ali vs Norton III
I scored this fight without any bias and even tho deep down I would've wanted Norton to win on my scorecard he didn't. Norton won rounds: 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, and 15 Ali won rounds: 1, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 15 Drew rounds: 4 and 12 Even round 4 could've been tipped in Ali's favour looking back so all in all there was no robbery I think Ali won fair and square. Hagler vs Leonard Again watched this with no bias in mind and had it a draw. Hagler won rounds: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 15 Leonard won rounds: 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11 I scored no rounds a draw although there was 1 or 2 that could've been I tried to have a clear cut dec. and still came to a draw IMO Leonard didn't do enough to lift the title from Hagler. Particularly when you factor in Hagler's aggressivness and Leonards holding, hitting and holding, a few low blows and a few times hitting after the bell. One of the judges had it 118-110 for Leonard...not sure which fight he was watching. |

Just watched Vicente Saldivar outpoint Seki in their first fight. I'm forcing myself to watch more of Saldivar in an effort to appreciate him more than I do. No luck so far.

JMM vs Victor Polo
12-0, Marquez. Maybe there was a Polo round but i didn't see it. Marquez was masterful and fuck i love that man's ring generalship. owned that fucking ring and a very good, if not elite, fighter. pacing, combos, everything were tremendous. he looks like a k-mart version of ricardo lopez |

Also watching Marquez-Barrera
Barrera was FANTASTIC in the first half and i really believe that his performance, well past his very best, against a peak marquez show his true quality. Round 7 was great for marquez until the knockdown. The bullshit, horrible call, turned a 10-8 barrera round into a 10-8 marquez round. I don't know if the ref told barrera to stop when marquez went down...he seem to pause like he was waiting for a call before he (foolishly) hit jmm either way, barrera was awesome and scored a clean knockdown |

Watched Mayweather vs Castillo I today:
Round 1 - Mayweather 10-9 Round 2 - Mayweather 10-9 Round 3 - Mayweather 10-9 Round 4 - Mayweather 10-9 Round 5 - Castillo 9-10 Round 6 - Castillo 9-10 Round 7 - Castillo 9-10 Round 8 - Even 9-9 Castillo deducted 1 point for hitting on the break Round 9 - Mayweather 10-9 Round 10 - Even 9-9 Mayweather deducted 1 point for repeated use of elbow. Round 11 - Castillo 9-10 Round 12 - Castillo 9-10 Draw 113-113 Very close rounds I find the judges scorecards a little suspect but I feel like a lot of Mayweathers defensive work got overlooked and although Castillo was the aggressor, Mayweather did well at neutralising it so it was not always effective aggression. Still he did not do enough good work to establish his own pace and Castillo kept coming so I think a draw is propably a fair result. |
