Toney vs Jirov, my third time watching this dinger of a fight. I don't know how either man lasted the full 12 rounds, because they were nailing each other with flush shots all night. Toney deserved to nick it with his huge 12th round knockdown, but Jirov made him work all the way, constantly backing him up with huge pressure and workrate. It kind of worked in Toney's favor in a certain way though, because he counter pinched beautifully off the ropes in every round, doing some significant damage to the iron chinned, big hearted Jirov. It all took its tool in the 12th, and if there had been thirty seconds more, Jirov could have been stopped.
For his legacy, its a pity that Toney didn't stay at cruiser-weight, he looked in solid shape, and from his lone title fight in the division, he looked good. Perhaps he could have reigned for a few years there? At any rate he obviously went were the money was at heavy. |

RODOLFO MARTINEZ VS BEAVER KAJIMOTO
MARTINEZ: 3; 4; 5; 6; 7; 8; 9; 10 KAJIMOTO: 1; 2(+1); MARTINEZ 97-92 KAJIMOTO Looks like another amazing night at the Forum here, with Enrique Pinder beating Chucho Castillo and Rafael Herrera defeating Ruben Olivares for the second time. Perhaps the least appreciated member of that cluster of excellent Mexican bantams is Rodolfo Martinez. Here, uploaded by the legendary rayrobinson333, the underrated future Bantamweight champ’ takes on the diminutive but gutsy Japanese journeyman Yoshio ‘Beaver’ Kajimoto. The 2nd and 3rd rounds are great, with the switch-hitting Martinez showing more variety, including his cultured left hand to head and body, and the tiny but strong Beaver landing the harder shots, including a booming overhand right that bounces off Martinez’s chin in the 2nd and leaves him flat out and badly hurt. Martinez finds his range after those rounds, and in orthodox reminds me a little of a little De La Hoya. Beaver gets through at times with his overhand right, which he does whip in fast, but Martinez controls the pace for the majority of the bout. |

povetkin v huck
6 rounds a piece so i scored it a draw upon second viewing. povetkin horribly wide open to the right hand. he's also slowed down a bit from his prime imo. wasted talent really. |

Watched Calzaghe vs Hopkins as a warm up before Cloud.
114-113 for Calzaghe. Struggled to give rounds to either at times. Calzaghe barely landed anything flush and was slapping with his punches alot. While Hopkins was relying solely on the right hand. Then I fell asleep and missed the Cloud vs Hopkins fight damn it |

Mayweather Jr - Oscar De La Hoya
10-9 9-10 10-9 10-9 10-9 9-10 9-10 10-9 10-9 10-9 10-9 10-9 117-111 Mayweather ODLH hardly caught Mayweather all night, those flurries didn't do much for me. Mayweather was just too accurate, couldn't miss with the right hand all night. Pretty easy for Mayweather, can't see how it was a split decision in all honesty. Clear Mayweather win. |

What about Oscar's jab for the first five or six rounds?
Hard to score for me, usually have it 115-113 Floyd. I honestly find Floyd-Castillo I a much clearer decision. |

I think my scorecard is in here somewhere pal, most say it's 7-5 either way, I didn't think Castillo did enough to win it. There are deductions as well. |

Mayweather-Castillo I
10-9 10-9 10-9 10-9 10-9 (close) 9-10 9-10 10-8(point deduction) 9-10(close) 8-10(point deduction) 9-10(close) 9-10(close) 113-113 draw Honestly one of the hardest fights to score that I've seen. At least 4 of the rounds could've gone either way IMO. Either way I'd be happy with the decision, close close fight. |
